Garage Band Jam Pack: Remix Tools... Any good? Worth the $?

I want to start getting into music creation. I have a M-Audio Oxygen8 v2... no one can seem to help me.

I want to make and remix video game music. Is this Jam pack what I need? Im so lost and it seems no one really can help me out.

I am considering the Remix also. Anyone here has it and would like to put in their thoughts?
Can Garage Band use other maker VST plug-ins? Something more in line with Trance music.
