When I'm recording something with Garage Band I have the option of using a metronome or not. For timing purposes, I would like to use it, however in the recording when I play it back I can hear the ticking of the metronome... is there any way around that? Can I specifically eliminate the sound of the recorded metronome?

Headphones

Use headphones so you hear the metronome, and any accompaniment you may have, but do not record the sound.

Another tip: You can build a better metronome. Just use some percussion sounds you like to build a 1 measure song, then add it to the loop browser to use as a click.

Obviously you only want to go through the trouble if it's functional. I have one set to 8th notes, where the downbeats have one sound, and the upbeats have another. I also have a quarter note one, where 1 has a different sound than 2, 3 and 4.
