I just finished watching the Lynda.com tutorial on multi-take recording in Garage Band. In it, the dude sets it up so all the takes have to be recorded consecutively. That is, it gets to the end of the section, and repeats back to where you want it to star, then you play again.
Does it have to be done this way, or can additional takes be recorded at completely separate time? Maybe even at a later date, with other things done in Garage Band in the meantime?
Obviously this can be done by simply adding another track. Just wondering if it can be done with another take instead.
The guys I record don't decide they want another take until they've had a chance to listen to the first one.
