This may sound like a dumb question but, how do i record my voice on garageband?? i went on a couple other sites and they were talking about getting really serious equipment, what if i just want to fool around make up really lame songs with my friends.. is that possible? i mean i have a built in mic, it wont be spectacular but it could be pretty funny.
another thing, i wouldnt even know where to start? what do i do if this is the mic i want to use?

im sorry for this post, it may not make sense but someone should be able to help me.

thanks
Iwould, if i could

Which Mac do you have?

If you've got an iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook or PowerBook (not sure about the iBook), then you've got a pretty useable mic built in, you'd be surprised :)

You just need to add a vocal track. Select new track from the track menu, then choose "real instrument."

Then make sure your audio input is set to built in mic in preferences.
