Garageband 1.1 for Podcasting

I just started using Garageband (MAC) for creating podcasts with my classes (elementary students) However, most of my students own an ipad or ipod touch, and I would love for them to be able to create podcasts at home.

How similar is it to create podcasts on the Ipad Garageband 1.1 to the Mac version? In the Mac version, there is a separate section to create podcasts. Which is very user friendly. How about the Ipad app?
