Running 10.6.8 on 2007 Mini (can't upgrade to Mavericks)

I purchased a copy of Garageband '11. Now that Garageband is updated to Mavericks only, how do I download a copy of '11 for posterity?

Would the installer be somewhere local on the hard drive?

It's still in my "Purchased" tab. Apple is also extending the "last supported version" feature to the mac app store that they just started with old iOS devices.

All

I think I can help you out; go to your Applications folder and GarageBand 6.5 is still there. It's in a folder marked GarageBand 6.5. I have verified it works fine under Mavericks.

It is worthwhile keeping the last version - I've read that the reason some softsynths and effects don't work and don't show up in the menu is that GarageBand 10 is 64-bit and thus your softsynth or plug-in must be rewritten for 64-bit. Happily, I now have both versions of GB installed.

Hey thanks for the great information! This was a big help to me too! The new version is great with the features, it's basically 'Logic Pro Lite" if you ask me.
