Garageband button playback delay

Hello,

I'm using a new rMBP 2.9ghz i5, 16gb ram, 512 ssd. I'm noticing considerable lag when using Garageband recording my acoustic guitar and vocals, when pressing the record, play, or stop button. There's like a 1-2 second lag when pressing the stop button. I don't know what's causing it? I don't think it's my hardware, is it because Garageband is glitchy? Are there any settings to make it less laggy? Thanks

edit: I tried in Appleton Live and no lag whatsoever...
