Garageband + Guitar

So I have my iStudio link, macbook and electric guitar.
anyone care to tell me how to get it working with garageband.

Plug the guitar into the sound input. Open garageband. Select Track. Select New Track. Select Real Instrument then Guitars. You then have a bunch of guitar sounds to choose from.

Thanks. I can record, but how come I can't hear myself through the speakers playing? Only playback..thanks again

At the bottom of the track info window there is a 'monitor' dropdown that you need to change to 'on'
