I have a 10 second audio clip. I want to record myself saying "This is blah blah" and put that OVER about the first 5 seconds of audio and then save it as one clip. I would obviously lower the volume of the original clip so that you could hear my talking.

Any ideas on how to do this? I have yet to even open Garageband. ;)

Just put the 10 second track on a single track in GB and lower the volume to it (you'll find it very easy so I don't think I have to explain).

Then creat a new track and hit the record button and say all you have to say. Adjust the volumes to you pleasure and then click on "share" and choose your option and you are set to go.

Also, you can use "ducking" to make it easier if you choose "create a new podcast episode" option.
