When I send a song to itunes from garageband, an additional 4 or 5 seconds of silence gets added in the process. How do I get rid of this? Has nothing to do with the clipping of the track. I've tried with multiple files, does it every time.

Personally, I don't trust GB to "finish" tracks. I export the songs to disc, then "master" them in Audacity. As part of the mastering process, I'll trim excess space at the beginning and end, do fade ins/outs (if necessary), possibly do a little compression, etc. Then I'll import them into iTunes.
