Can I hook up a acoustic electric guitar up on GarageBand without using internal and external mics

Have you also taken a look at MRoogle, since that question may have been asked several times?

I think the built in input is line-level, so you would need a DI box to convert the signal coming from the guitar to line-level.

They are only about $30 for a cheap one.

Maybe check if your computers input is line-level before you go and get one.
