I had an iTunes card and I decided to get GarageBand, I guess it's fun to mess around on it for a while but is it pointless if you aren't a music producer?

I bought that app too

Amazing, you can do a lot of good sons, i'm not a producer, just a music lover!

It is what you make of it... if you want to take a little time and learn some of the ins and outs of the program, you might surprise yourself with what you can come up.

GarageBand for iPad is ok but Djay is awesome!

I know completely different but for 10 bucks it's better than any cd deck i have ever used.

It takes some learning to it and I suppose you have to have some sort of music background/theory in order to fully utilize it. But for $5, it's a heckuva deal for everything that it is capable of doing. My brother and I used it this weekend and he played bass guitar on the iPad while I played acoustic guitar on my iPhone. We just did a simple 4 chord song and it sounded pretty good.

Useful? no. Fun to play with your friends? Yes.

just becaue you lack the knowledge doent mean its not useful.
it is by no means a studio replacement lol, even garageband on the mac is limited. that being said, ive composed many of songs on garage band.
Its quite useful when on the road or away from my studio when i have a new idea.

i highly recommend it to anyone with basic music knowledge wanting to dabble with producing.

Yeah, years of playing piano translate into "lack of knowledge", sure.
Please could you qualify again, senior successful producer? Just want to see your immense knowledge on this matter.

lol define successful? i never said anything of that,

just because one has knowledge of playing a piano, doesnt mean you instantly have knowledge in music production. **rolls eyes**

its is the best solution on a tablet right now until Propellerheads new software drops :0

but then again i only run my own studio ;)

Knowledge of music (applied to whichever instrument you can imagine) makes production very easy actually.

indeed it does, no one ever said it wasnt. In fact youd have a hard time doing it without it.. the point i was making was just because you know how to play a piano, doesnt mean you know how to use garageband.

garageband is useful.. not professional
