Hi,

I own all the Garageband Jam Packs. I recently set up my friends new Mac Mini with Garageband 6.0.5, same version I have been using, and now some of the sounds will not install - particularly the "synth textures" sounds. On the new Mac Mini, there are arrows next to the missing sounds suggesting I download extra content from Apple.

I tried it, and the extra content says it is downloading, but after restarting the machine these sounds are still not showing up. I upgraded to Garageband 10, and while some of my old software instruments are present under "legacy" content, many of them are gone.

In order to defeat this, I had to copy my entire Garageband Instrument Library out of the Library>Application Support folder and dump it onto the new Mac.

My question is, are these old synth sounds just not supported anymore? I dont remember ever downloading these sounds as "extra content" in the 7 or so years Ive had these jam-packs. I have tons of songs that use these sounds and I cannot play these on a machine with a fresh install of garageband 10 even after I install the jam-packs. I have to do it the dirty way and use garageband 6.0.5 or these sounds are gone.

Anyone have a solution to this or similar experience with the jam packs on newer versions of GB?
