GarageBand LiveLoops on Mini 4?

My son has the original iPad Mini and spends an inordinate amount of time playing with GarageBand (hey, if they're on the iPad, they aren't on drugs...or, uh, something). Anyway, he's used the GB 2.1 release at school and is all fired up about the LiveLoops. Unfortunately, they don't work on his oMini. Does anyone know if they work on the iPad Mini 4? The update specs say:

* Live Loops is available on iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPad (4th generation), or later devices.

What I don't know is whether or not "...iPad (4th generation) or later devices" includes the iPad mini 4.
