Dear reader,

I am so desperate: I started recording with Garageband about 2 years ago. So far, I have only been able to really record audio through a microphone (usb) and with my m-audio key rig 49. But, the latter does not have a piano feel, I am a pianist.

What do I do? I install a silent system with midi on my real piano with midi output. What happens: the audio recorded sounds all scrambled, like the sustain messes everything up (long notes that I don't recall playing) or the sustain does not seem to work on the recordings. Useless.

I buy a brand new macbook air to ensure it's not my old macbook white.
I buy a new cable to ensure it's not the cable.

Next midi device tried (a Roland) and the audio is.....some kind of two year old jamming on a poor piano like instrument... I did not play it like this!

I buy a nice Yamaha stagepiano for performances with a direct usb midi output. I jam it into the macbook air, it records and ALL SEEMS TO HAVE WORKED! However, the next day I want to start mixing my recordings, and surprise: another fail because this time I hear hundreds of notes entered wrongly. Also, it does not sound like the "touche" is played by a pianist: very loud entry's, followed by very soft ones. No subtel dynamics. I must have pressed something during my recording session? Because in the beginning it sounded fine, the vocalist did her piece right after recording.....

Please help me please! I have been pushing buttons for the past 17 hours...

The only midi instrument (out of 4) that works without issues: My M-audio Keyrig. Perhaps handy information....

Thank you very much.
