GarageBand Question

Is there a way to make my keyboard the drum set? Meaning, every time I hit the space bar, it plays the base drum. .. Using the keyboard, I could create my own beat.
Is this possible or do you need a separate product.??

You can use your computer keyboard for beats if you select 'musical typing' on the window menu.
