GarageBand sounds i can't use?

Hi, i have iLife '11 and GarageBand has a TON of loops that are shaded out and go to this "update" window every time i click them. I've tried "updating" countless amounts of times, but at the end of the 2 hour update it always says "could not connect to the internet. try again later". HELP?!
