I have been editing audio tracks over the last few days and a problem almost appeared out of nowhere. I had no problems splitting a single track by using the Command+T track splitting shortcut in which the track would be broken at whatever spot I placed the cursor. All of a sudden, and after nothing done by me, now when I use the same command to split a track, it does not split but rather deletes whatever is to the right of the position I want the split. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this change has occurred and it is driving me nuts. Has anyone else experienced this? Did I accidentally make a change to the program without consciously knowing it? I would like to continue editing audio in Garageband but it now seems like I have to use another program since this problem is here to stay.
On a completely separate note, while I have a bit of attention, I have another problem concerning a single track. The mp3 that I import into Garageband is a 99MB file and when it is done converting and importing into Garageband it only appears as a roughly 30 second track when I know it is almost 2hrs if played by any other program. I do not have this problem with any other mp3. Is this a normal bug? I would like to edit this file as well but the problem is that I cannot see the information that I need to cut out!.
Thank you for your time and any help you can provide.
