Garageband!

Hi everyone!
Quick question..
I have my iMac with 10.4 on it. and i have my macbook air with 10.6..
I recently wiped the drive and reinstalled 10.6 on the macbook air, and since i lost my install cds, i bought the upgrade version for 30 bucks.
Now i dont have iLife on my macbook.. I tried at least getting the old version from my iMacs install discs, but they wont work on the macbook for some reason.
All i really need is Garageband.. Where could i get this (even an older version) cheap or free without having to pay for the whole iLife software?
(or how to transfer from my iMac, which files do i need to transfer etc)

Get Apple to replace the install discs (I think they're $30), get iLife from a store, buy an older version of iLife off of eBay.
