Garmin 405 Mac compatible?

I'm reading conflicting stories online...is the Garmin 405 Forerunner Mac compatible??

Also (pretty please) does the foot pad work accurately? I'd like to use it at the gym (where there is no GPS signal).

It's only fully compatible with Intel boxes... bugger

Edit: I've been using mine with my G5 for quite some time. It works fine
