I want to pass along some tips based on having to figure this out. There might be other ways to do this, so any other methods are welcome.

I own a Garmin Edge 705 which I use to track my bike rides. Its an AWESOME device.

I did a great ride on Sunday and wanted a record of it beyond what Garmin Connect offers. In particular, because it was a very scenic route along the ocean, I was trying to present the route in Google Earth.

After lots of searching I found out that the best way for me to do this was to import the file of that ride from the Garmin device itself into MotionBased.

First however, you have to download the Garmin Communicator Plugin for the Mac
http://www8.garmin.com/products/communicator/

Then you Upload the ride into MotionBased. Once its in your Digest, you select the rides you want to act on, Go to the Drop Down Menu More Actions and select Activity Export > Google Earth

Of course, MotionBased itself offers some neat functionality and information.
