Years ago I used to have a basic GPS, a Garmin Extrex. It had no maps, just pretty much a blank screen with your location and co-ordinates displayed, along with speed and heading.

It was great for marking points to return to, say for geo caching, hiking and so on.

I'd like an app that emulates this, but so far I've been out of luck finding one.

I'm hoping that someone here knows of an app which will do what I like. Say, mark a point on the map, then at a later date bring up that point with the map displaying what direction it is and how far (as the crow flies).

I also want to use this to try and measure longer distances on properties, particularly when marking out fencelines and calculating square area.

Thanks
