garmin iq3600 Help!!!!!!

My dad is going to France tomorrow and he bought the garmin iq3600 and he cant download the maps to the compact flash card he has. He cant get pas the step where it says press hot sync button now to continue setup. We are forced to do this in vpc If there is a Mac application that works please can you tell me. my dad will become a macruomrs fan if we can fix this. He thinks the post wont make a diff.
