Hello all.

My iTunes library contains 12,266 songs (68.88 GB of music).

I use iTunes Match and I wanted to pin (download) most of my collection onto my new iPhone 7 (128 GB model). I did so manually going album by album on the iPhone itself.

I ended up pinning 11,307 songs. Before doing so I assumed it would be less than the roughly 69 GB of music I have in iTunes on my Mac Mini.

Much to my surprise, these pinned songs now take up 92.16 GB of space on my iPhone.

I currently have 20.95 GB of space free, so I'm fine, but I'd really love to know why this music takes up so much more space on my iPhone versus my iTunes library. Thanks.

Corrupted download? Repeated songs?
Or iTunes Match downloads more than what you have on iTunes library? Like better artwork, slightly better quality songs etc. .

Just a few guess.

No repeated songs. Downloads went very smoothy.

Perhaps it's the better quality songs as you stated. That's the only thing I can come up with. Still seems strange to me. Roughly 1,000 songs less than my library and 20 GB larger onto my iPhone.
