just saw these today, they are up for preorder, any thoughts?
They are the best-looking certified dock so far IMO

They say it is sync and charge yet say it is fitted with a mini-USB?

They don't show a rear shot at all so something doesn't add up. It would need to be fitted with a female Lightning for it to sync.

Why would it need a female Lightning?

If the dock used the same technology as the Lightning-to-mini-usb-adapter, then a USB-to-mini-usb-cable would suffice, right?

I guess they made it like this because the latter cable is a lot less expensive than a lightning-cable

it's no more ridiculous than those on this forum that pay $50+ for a dock that requires you to supply your own cable

I really like the look of this dock and while I think $40 is pertty expensive I may have done it to have one, at least it does have the cable. But, it already says out of stock!

there is an invisible 'preorder' button at the top right corner, it's 'out of stock' because it's on preorder I think

No, it would not. Otherwise the cable that comes with the 5 would be useless for syncing according to your reasoning. How would anyone sync considering that no computer currently ships with lightning ports?

Assuming your sense of worth is universal is ridiculous. If it doesn't work for you then don't buy it.
