Geekbench 5 is out. Post Mac mini results!

Gotta add that these guys are still crippling the Mac GPU results. The scores used to be the same as Windows and then last year without any changes on the user side the macOS GPU results came sliding down.

Geekbench 4

Mac mini (Late 2018)
single core CPU score 5587
multi core CPU score 24562
OpenCL Score 150979
Metal Score 163461
AMD Radeon RX Vega 56

Geekbench 5 Trial

Mac mini i7 (Late 2018)
single core CPU score 1143
multi core CPU score 5531
OpenCL Score 51220
Metal Score 39282
AMD Radeon RX Vega 5

I see that the metal scores went down quite a bit.

For giggles ran GB5 on the integrated graphics

Metal Score 4977

Mac Mini (Late 2012) i5 2.50 GHz, 8GB RAM

Single Core: 595

Multi Core: 1289

Why are all the scores so much lower with GB5 vs GB4? Are they calculating things differently?

was in the articles about the announcement.

Geekbench 4 used a Microsoft Surface Book with an Intel Core i7-6600U processor as its baseline, with a score of 4,000 points. Geekbench 5 uses a Dell Precision 3430 with a Core i3-8100 processor as its baseline, with a score of 1,000 points.

I did open the case late last year and took out all the dust bunnies growing in there. I also have a 250GB SSD installed.

If anyone has a 2018 Mac Mini i3 to test it would be interesting to see how close to 1000 the single core test will be.
