During my quest for the next iMac to buy, I've seen tons of benchmarks. Among the benchmarks, Geekbench numbers got me wonder. When I was browsing benchmark numbers, I noticed that it varies quite a lot for the system with the same CPU and RAM. For example, with the same i7 27inch iMac late 2015, I've seen numbers from high 3000s for single core to low 4000s; 15000s to 17000s for multicore while the specs were the same when I checked them.

Why so much difference for the same system with the same CPU & RAM? In fact, the high end 3.3ghz i5 number is pretty close to the low end 4ghz i7 number, although the average numbers are quite different.
