I was looking at the geekbench scores for these two machines and I found that alot of the macbook pro scores were higher. Is there a difference in the testing between the two computers? Because I find it hard to believe these results.

MacBook Pro processors have hyperthreading.

Only the high CTO 3.4GHz iMac 27 has hyperthreading.

That's why.

Does that mean that the macbook pros will be faster though? or does that just make it seem that way in the test. (I suck at computer stuff, sorry)

MacWorld has more benchmarks if you want. I think they might be more relevant than GeekBench scores.

HT can be useful but not in all scenarios. You can read more about it here. Basically, the MBPs are not as fast compared to the iMacs as the Geekbench scores would imply.

Another reason for the performance of the MBPs being closer than the clock speeds suggest is the fact that turbo boost is much more aggressive on the MBP.
