So my internet connection speed seems to vary GREATLY. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. I've been scouring the interwebs for a shell script that can be used through geektools to quickly run a bandwidth speed test using any one of the many available services (bandwidthplace, speednet, etc) and display it on the desktop, but haven't found anything.
It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to create, the basic idea is that it would run every few minutes in the background so that I would know if netflix isn't streaming because my cable provider is slow or there is some other issue.
Any ideas?
