Hi everyone, I'm new to Geektool, and new to the forums (I hope this is the right place to post this).

Basically I started using geektool yesterday. I set up some simple scripts to show my now playing in spotify and the time and date.

However it seems to be quite drastically heating up my mac. I run smcFanControl because I always felt my mac was getting too hot, so I can adjust the fan speed and also monitor temperature. With the fan speed maxed (6200 rpm) without geektool running i'm sitting at 42-45 degrees C. But with geektool running I hit 70 degrees C easily with only chrome and spotify running.

I was also using Photoshop today with a tablet, and I got jolts and lag while drawing every few seconds (I'm assuming it's from the constant script refreshes every few seconds).

I searched around and nobody else seems to mention any of these problems, so does anyone have any idea?

I'm on a macbook pro, uprgraded to 8gb RAM, running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)

Thanks in advance.
