Hi,
I bought a genuine Apple GeForce 4 MX with ADC-Connector for my PowerMac G4.
However, it doesn't get recognized:

Device-ID 0x171 refers to the desktop model of the GeForce 4 MX, so my last resort is that it might be flashed with a PC ROM.

The PowerMac G4 is running Leopard and MacOS 9.2.2.

Does anyone has such a card installed and can point out the Dev-ID, or has an advice on how to make it work?

Regards

That one, M43.
Maybe there was some weird restriction in the drivers that don't allow you to use that card in an older machine?

Never heard of any, and I've many times used graphics from newer G4 in older one. I think that's not the problem.
I'd dump existing ROM and flash it with ROM rev 1100 (Themacelite). If it won't work, try 2032. You can try in Mac using Graphicaccelerator (screen sharing) or obviously in PC, with nvFlash 4.xx
