Gelaskin-like coverage but plain/transparent?

I'd like to get a skin to allow me to place my iPhone on my desk or counter without wondering about scratches. However, I think that the corner implementation of the current skins (like Invisible Shield, BSE, etc) is a bit cheesy and will tend to curl at some point. So I do like the way Gelaskins covers most of the back, ignoring the corners. Is anyone aware of a product that is clear like BSE but has the coverage without corners like Gelaskins?

You can always just cut off the flaps of an IS, Bodyguardz, BSE, etc. I've read of a few people doing that because they had trouble getting them to stick.

This would ensure you all the benefits too, specifically the lifetime replacements.

Hadn't thought of that...would that be hard to do without messing it up (I haven't actually handled one of those skins)
