This is my old, handed down Gen 1 Apple Watch. Out of warranty, but Apple will indeed replace the battery for this issue. It happened quick, and on my woman's wrist. She felt it get very hot, and took it off and noticed the popped screen. Immediately went to Apple without an appointment, and they took us in front of others to take it away from us, as unlikely, COULD be potentially dangerous. In a few days, I can pick up the repaired watch. Awesome customer support, as usual.
