Is there a way to increase the "general" font size of macOS?

I know I can increase the font size of file names in a Finder window - but what about the font size of the things that are listed in the sidebar of these windows? Similar in Calendar: the font size of calendar events can be increased with Cmd + but everything in the sidebar remains small. Other places with small font sizes are: all menus; the content of info windows (Cmd I) - here the font size is extremely tiny; favorites bar items in Safari and other browsers, many things in Mail, and so on, and so on.

Is there by chance a tool that can dig into the system and change font sizes that usually cannot be changed?

You can certainly set your overall resolution lower in System Preferences > Displays to increase the rendered size of everything.

The Finder windows' sidebar icons and text size can be changed in System Preferences > General > Sidebar icon size.

Just played with that a bit. I'm convinced that the font size does not change when switching from Medium to Large. The icons get bigger. The font size is noticeably smaller if Small is selected.

Hopefully that's something; I'd never have scrutinized medium versus large since I've only ever used small. ^ ^
