Anyone else having a lackluster experience with the 14 Pro Max?

-Wi-Fi/cellular disconnects
-lag or unresponsive when trying to unlock
-apps won’t open
-UI delays

Anyone tried a fresh restore and fix these things before I go about restoring myself?

I had issues with WiFi connectivity, had to do a IPSW restore and that didn’t work. It resolved itself overnight.

there are some UI delays, but they've calmed down since

Not at all. The pro max is operating very smoothly, no issues. Did you update to 16.0.1?
I updated to 16.0.1 after the iCloud restore completed. I’m probably going to end up restoring to new, but I’d prefer not to if it’s not going to fix anything.

very quick smooth for me, first time turn on my 14 Pro Max, immediate DFU firmware upgrade to beta 16.1, restore my full backup 16.1 beta from 12 Pro Max, tested all my apps, email, etc. Esim transfer process less than 3mins. Very impressed.

Silky smooth other than some minor little UI issues, which I assume is part of x.0 shenanigans that will eventually be fixed. Cellular on Verizon seems a bit weak in areas, but those could be areas that are always weak, anyway—hard to tell Wi-Fi, no problems whatsoever so far.

I did a clean install, btw; not sure if that made a difference?

I spoke to a nice fella at AppleCare and he had me toggle Content and Privacy restrictions on and off and then manually turn off the phone before doing the hard reboot steps. He asked me to monitor for a few hours and so far it seems to have resolved the issues I was seeing. Not really understanding the correlation to the restriction settings, but it did seemingly affect overall performance.

Will keep an eye on what’s happening. The screen not registering taps, etc is my biggest concern.

I was having a lot of UI animation glitches and pauses. I was skeptical, but this actually seemed to fix it immediately.

So far my performance has been great. No real complaints. I’m mostly seeing some bugginess in apps that need to be updated but that’s how it is with every new iOS.

Update:
-camera focusing issues
-haptics stopped working

Been on the horn with Apple and getting the runaround on whether the express replacement service will give me a new phone or a refurbished one.

I’d go to the store to just return this dud but no one has the model I want in stock to re-buy.

I do find it laggy/unresponsive for a few seconds when I try to unlock (only when I'm trying to unlock from the AOD state).

Besides this Music Issue a couple people are having, I've noticed Safari & Messages freezing up, having to force quit & reopen. My Photos Library still hasn't finished sorting thru all of the Faces yet, even with my phone "plugged in and locked" as it asks overnight. I've also had random "hey! This thing is hot!" moments with only a few apps open.

I'd really love to start using this iPhone 14 Pro Max more, but with all of the troubleshooting I've done to try and resolve my Music App issue, I feel like I got a lemon.
