Generic HP printer Driver for MacBook Pro

My new MacBook pro with Snow Leopard did not come with an updated printer driver for my older HP g85 all in one. HP said basically ... sorry, go get another printer! The printer may be older but it works perfectly and I can't see why I should have to buy a new printer for lack of driver software.
Does anyone know of a generic HP printer driver that will work with Snow Leopard-Macbook Pro?

Gutenprint has a pretty good selection of free drivers for the most printers, even older ones. (CUPS)
