Generic power supply for PowerMAC G4?

Hi all,

I m having some issues with my power supply on a powerMac G4.
The power supply is:
ACBEL api-9841

I looked at the prices online but they are all outside of my budget.
I was wondering if there were any generic models of power supply that would work with a G4 and would be more affordable.

Cheap G4 power supply

If you don't want to pay big bucks for an official power supply:

This site sells adapters that will let you use certain ATX power supplies that will fit where your old Apple power supplies go. The ATX PS's suggested cost anywhere from $35 to $60, and the adapters are all below $30.

The only caveats are that certain Maxtor drives don't like these adapters and you can no longer reliably use the Firewire ports for any bus-powered drives, and Deep Sleep might not work with some ATX's. If you don't give a **** about any of that, an ATX power supply with 430W or so will let you fill all the PCI slots and have as many drives as you can fit inside the G4 without worrying about the power.

You sir have just possibly become my hero. I shall order one of these at the end of the month and if it helps resurrects my G4 you will be confirmed as my hero!

oh yeah

You might also have to either get a newer, more compact DVD/CD drive as many of the recommended supplies are longer than the Apple ones.. you'll know what I mean when you try to fit the ATXs in
