I made an appointment at the local apple store to have my phone replaced. My reception is a bit of a problem. Even when I don't use the death grip I get 2-3 bars normally, and that is enough to make a call sound fuzzy (the guy at the apple store even said, "I'm sorry sir. What was the last thing you asked, your phone broke up?" But more aggrevating than the reception to me is the proximity sensor. Nearly every call I make during the day will have something going on... I either hang up on them or mute them or put them on speaker phone.

Do you think I should go to the Apple store and have it replaced or should I just wait for an update? (I dont know if they will have an update for the proximity sensor problem)

Proximity sensor problem = replace. Let them restore your phone to factory defaults - if you can duplicate the problem after that its time for a new phone.
