Hello all, so the guy working at the genius bar offered to replace the SSD on my mid 2012 macbook air under an "applecare extension' program. since my MBA was out of the 1 year warranty already. I am wondering, does this mean I get an extension of some sort to BUY applecare, because they replaced it with a part? if anyone could let me know thatd be great. Thanks!

No, that just means that the SSD is under an extended replacement program.
