Because people who scour Twitter for 'news' and regurgitate it here do not do this to inform. Rather they do it out of some deep, emotional need to be first. They never bury this 'news' in an existing thread. Nope, a brand new thread is always started so everyone will know they were the first to report it on MR. The fact the 'news' is false is irrelevant because any time spent determining its' accuracy could mean someone else might be first.

The OP isn't trolling, he's posting false information which is against the forum rules. As MikePA said, 2 seconds of research could have confirmed this instead of posting yet another new thread, which is ALSO against the forum rules.

I say just close the thread it's a waste but more importantly might cause misinformation or confuse people. Yes this is MacRummers but is is not MacLies or MacBS even though there is allot of the latter here as well.

Thanks but no thanks but I'll wait for Spirit + ultrasn0w. If you are so desperate for unlock to use with other carrier, you should shell 700 bucks from Canada/Asia/Europe and get a fully unlocked iPhone. Devteam jailbreak is really not that far away and I'd rather wait for them to jailbreak 4.1 and get to use new features (eg: AVRCP) as opposed to jailbreaking 4.0.1 and the hole gets plugged in 4.1

Yup. Who cares if he's back or not. He's a whiny little turd. I'd rather use a jailbreak/unlock from the Dev Team any day.
When I had my iPhone 3G, I was on the PwnageTools bandwagon since the beginning so it only make sense for me to keep using those custom firmwares... Never used the blackra1n at all...
Recently, with my iPad I am using the wonderful Spirit JB and it works perfectly...
Can't wait for the 4.1 firmware jailbreak from Devteam...
