Amazon this week has a huge collection 10th generation iPads on sale, with the sole exception of a few colors of the cellular models not being discounted. These deals have been automatically applied and do not require an on-page coupon to be clipped.

Prices start at $279.00 for the 64GB Wi-Fi iPad, down from $349.00. You can also get the 256GB Wi-Fi tablet for $429.00, down from $499.00. These $70 discounts are solid second-best prices on the iPad and all four colors are available on sale for each model.

If you're shopping for cellular models, Amazon has the 64GB cellular iPad for $429.00 and the 256GB cellular iPad for $579.00. These are also $70 discounts, but this time they're all-time low prices on the iPad. If you prefer shopping at Best Buy, you'll find many of these prices on the iPad are being matched at the retailer this week.

Plenty of valid arguments about why not to buy this

I will say, though, that it would be a perfectly acceptable content consumption iPad for a TON of people… for years and years.

I have an around the house iPad 9 I use all the time to watch YouTube and streaming Tv and browse the web …. Check weather…look at photos….etc

i wouldn't even use this if it was being given out for FREE
I mean… yeah, sure. You own a 13” iPad Pro M4. You certainly have little-to-no reason to use an iPad 10th Gen over an iPad Pro M4.

A good deal for someone, I'm sure.

But this model just seems incredibly underpowered in 2025 to me.
With the exception of Apple Intelligence usage (which everybody on MacRumors seems to hate with a passion anyway, lol), the iPad 10th Gen is a good device still in 2025. The A14 in this iPad is powerful-enough for most people’s everyday internet-consumption needs.

It is a good iPad for a good price provided 64 GB is enough. But also a new 11th generation model might be coming soon. So might be better to wait and see if an iPad is not needed to be purchased immediately.

the 13" is too large to be used comfortably in hand as a tablet so mine is always in the Magic Keyboard restricting it to the laptop form factor.

I want an iPad Mini or 10-11" with an OLED or Mini LED w high refresh rate to use as a tablet. Timmy can even omit FaceID if he wants.

the # of users who want that specifically are so small that Sith Lord Timothy will never make such a device.

I’m not in the most concerned about power. It’s more the amount of RAM what’s holding me back. Because 4 GB isn’t much if you have opened multiple tabs in safari and scrolling large pages.

For just as an internet/media device I’m better off with an Android tablet I think. Cheaper and more RAM
