Basically im thinking of getting a MBP 13" at the end of october (when its my birthday) but i dont know if i should wait and see if a new one comes out at christmas time or early in the year. What do you guys think?

Get one for your birthday. They are great machines. You will love it.
I agree completely. They are great machines, and you'll really enjoy it. Besides, anything technological runs the risk of being overtaken by further/future developments. That's life. Enjoy what is available now and trade up/sell in a few years time when the technology has changed sufficiently to make the change a necessity, rather than a fashion statement, or a desire to constantly have what is newest.

From what I've heard. If apple was going to release another Mac pro line for Christmas it would happen about late October. Just in line with your Birthday. If it does not happen by that time. It would be in 2010 of Feb or so. You could have been enjoying your new Mac pro 13". Just think of all that time you will have wasted.
