Get a message on Facebook, check it online, notification badge still on iphone

Hopefully that makes sense.

Say I get a message on facebook. I get the notification on my phone along with the badge on the icon. I then am on my laptop, check the message and good to go. However, it's still a notification on my phone and the badge is still there.

No way for the notification and badge to go away even though I already checked it online?

Not sure if this is the case with emails as well (same scenario where you check it online but it's still up as a notification on your phone)

Eh, it usually goes away in a couple of mins/hours for emails. With Facebook, it's sporadic. It goes away usually once you open the app for a sec, then close it again.

All Apps are the same.

The app can only change the badge count when it is opened.

I get game requests and get a badge but the requests don't show up on Phone only computer. Usually have to deny the game request for it to go away.
