So I have an old Imac G5 and the motherboard died. How can I wipe the hard drive if there's no power. I don't want to take it to the apple store, and I want to possibly sell the parts on ebay.

Thanks

You could try Firewire Target Disk mode.

Googling should tell you all you need to know about how to do it. You'll need another Mac to do this though.

It really depends on how "dead" it is. Firewire target disk mode would be my first suggestion but if it really is the motherboard I doubt thats gonna work. You would need to physically remove the hard drive and place it in a hard drive enclosure and hook it up to another computer.
