I've been using the speedit extension that increw have been working on and so far it has been working pretty well. I'm sure they could use the feedback from more people. I've been getting more battery power when using the extension which I guess is expected. The extension just lowers your frequecy down to 1GHz so when you don't need the power you can save some battery. Later versions will allow you to change this around more.
