How can I get music off of music that does not have a 'Download' option? I know Windows has alot of options to do this? I've downloaded a few song on my Win side and god them onto my Mac's iTunes. But they never download fully, because it's trial software.

So is there any such program for Mac's that do this?

I use iRecordMusic (not free; I bought it back when it and AudioHijack were both not free). It is quite simple to use and straightforward. I haven't done any formal testing, but the audio quality is as good as the original streaming file (which isn't going to be perfect or even as good as a 128kbps AAC).

Are you sure you are recording at a decent bitrate (128k or better for AAC; probably try ~ at least 160 for MP3)?

Download music from myspace music pages

1. follow this link:

http://file2hd.com/

2. then when you're there, copy and paste the URL of the myspace music page and select the 'audio' filter.

3. now it should come up with the list of audio files. right click the song you want and click 'download linked file'

that's it.

It's been a little while since I've done this, but here's what works for me:

1. Go to the page with the music.
2. Start playing the song you wish to keep
3. IMMEDIATELY open Safari's "Activity" window (before the song has played very long)
4. Scan down through the Activity list to find something ending in "mp3". It should also show an "incomplete" file size (as the song is streaming to your Mac and "not yet there"), for example, "358 of 3034k".
5. Hold down the Option key and double-click on that particular listing.
6. Safari [hopefully] will begin downloading the mp3 file (to wherever you have Safari set up to download to by default).

The reason I put "immediately" in capitals above is, that if you wait too long or wait until the song has completed, this method may not work. You generally have to "grab it early" in the playing process.

Yes, this is the error message you get if you wait too long. Not sure what's going on, but you can "work around" this by grabbing the song very early in the streaming playback, as mentioned above....

I can't find things ending in "mp3".

no mp3s

The way Myspace delivers songs has changed - they arrive in little pieces (technical term), which you'll see appearing in the Safari activity window. As they're no longer mp3 files, it's not possible (?) to save them as before.

Some people might think this change has led to the reported decline in the popularity of Myspace, and the rumour in the past week that News Corp may sell or even close down Myspace.

when i try to use file2hd - the files show up but when i try to right click them to either "save as" or "download link as" neither option is available. just "go to address" or "search" is there! someone please help!
