Nomad kicked off its official Black Friday event this week with sitewide savings on its best gear, plus a deal of the day that will change every day in the lead-up to November 28. Today's deal of the day is 30 percent off the Sport Band Glow 2.0 for Apple Watch Ultra.

Otherwise, Nomad's Black Friday sale has up to 30 percent off iPhone 17 cases, wireless chargers, cables, Apple Watch Bands, and lifestyle gear. All of these discounts have been automatically applied and do not require any coupon codes to see the final sale prices.

This sitewide sale knocks the price of Nomad's Modern Case for iPhone 17 and Rugged Case down to $39.00, from $49.00. You can also get the Modern Leather Case for iPhone 17 for $60.00, down from $75.00.

If you're shopping for Apple Watch Bands, Nomad's Rocky Point Band for Apple Watch Ultra is on sale for $63.00, down from $79.00. The Titanium Band for Apple Watch Ultra is down to $169.00, from $199.00.

In addition to these discounts on newer products, Nomad's overstock sale has big markdowns on older gear like iPhone 16 cases, Apple Watch Bands, wireless chargers, and more.

Nomad should be doing a 99% off Black Friday Sale…and even then, their junk bands would be overpriced!

You can find the original bands they source on AliExpress pretty easily. $3-7 each. Identical in every way except the Nomad logo.

The Nomad ones come much better packaged (versus the usual ziplock from an importer), but, I dunno that a fancy box is worth a 10x markup. To each their own, I guess.

Nomad has addressed this in the past.
They don’t drop-ship. The bands on AliExpress are often cheap knockoffs of their bands.

I own both a Nomad band bought from their website for ~$60 and several imported versions I bought in a set for under $7 each. Under close inspection they are exactly identical, wear identically, and have had the same durability. Can I prove that they are one in the same? Of course not. However, for all intents and purposes they functionally are.

If people like the Nomad bands (as I did), they should buy one and enjoy it (also, as I did). But they should do so knowing that they're paying mightily for a logo and fancy box.

Thanks for this tip, I've had the Stratos band on my radar. I just took a screen shot of it, then uploaded it to Ali express, $36 vs $179

Nomad has addressed this as well. When they were finalizing the design with their manufacturing partner, the CAD files got stolen and a bunch of knockoff manufacturers in China began flooding the market with copycats. Some reviewers on YouTube have compared the knockoffs to the actual Stratos and the Stratos uses a higher grade of titanium and a stronger magnet for the clasp, among other discrepancies.

If you believe "a higher grade of titanium and a stronger magnet" justify a $143 price difference, you may purchase the Nomad original. I'm sure it's an excellent band.

I'm also sure imola will be perfectly well served by the cheaper one and that it will last for the lifetime of his Apple Watch without concern.

For sure. People are free to do what they want. I’m just speaking to the misconception that Nomad is upselling generic Chinese merch. They spent a lot of effort designing the Stratos. It’s a shame the market is already flooded with knockoffs based on the stolen CAD files.

For sure. And to be clear, I was speaking entirely about their flouro-elastomer bands. Those are the ones I have experience with, and I came to find the design existed before they started selling them. So I'm not sure who influenced who there. But still, Nomad (or anyone) is free to set their pricing for goods they made or goods they bought elsewhere at whatever level the market is willing to support.

Their other upmarket bands, like the Stratos, I have no personal experience with.

It's a big difference in FKM and regular silicon.

No, they aren't the same. I'm sure you think a knockoff Rolex is the same too.

The FKM material is the same thing Apple uses. It's not what the cheap bands use. They use plain silicon. You can tell the difference in how the band feels and the quality of it. They also don't age as well and can get sticky.

Save your insults. They are both FKM, have the exact same weight, and have worn the same for over a year I’ve owned them.

Nomad bands are made by the same Chinese kids, using the same materials, as the $8 bands on Amazon or Ali. iPhone cases are no different…$5 or $38….same production line…different packaging and different marketing.
It’s basic marketing….a higher price has a mental/emotional implication/feeling that a product is “better” and therefore the buyer has a perceived happiness….and for those who enjoy giving Nomad a bunch of money for an ill-fitting junk band, so be it…their money, their happiness!

That photo is abolutely misleading. I got one of those for my Apple Watch Ultra and it went back in the box straight away, absolute rubbish, band is way too thin for the Ultra. It looks like it skipped leg day....

Waste of money... I wouldn't touch this with a 10m pole.
