So I have an iPod Touch that I dropped and broke the screen. My dad ordered a new screen and tried to fix it; he took it apart, and put it back together with the new screen, but it was being glitchy, and he couldn't get the screen to snap all the way on so he sent it in for repairs (not to Apple, but to some other people... idk y). But always they sent it back saying that they couldn't fix it, but thanks so those ******s, now the screen doesn't work at all.

I really want to get my Pictures and Videos (and also, my Notes, and some data from this Documents app I had) off of there and onto my new iPod, but the problem is, iTunes apparently didn't have a backup for it saved. So i tried plugging it in to maybe like click sync pictures or like save a back up, but iTunes doesn't detect it or anything.

Any help?

Unfortunately if its not detected by iTunes or Disk Utility or if you use a PC, inside My Computer. Chances are it's not even turning on.

If the device isn't turning on there is no way to access anything from the device :(

Have you tried a hard reboot? (Power and Home button down for about 10 seconds)

Let me know!

I've had this problem too with my iPod Touch 2g...
if it isn't recognized in iTunes and i won't turn on, you can't get to the files on the iPod, like thegreati already said.
