Just got this message on my iPhone 17. Which I bought 2 months ago. I do not have any other phones ordered. Find it odd that tonight I see this message in settings……

Same, got it a couple days ago on my launch day 17 Pro. Only way for me to get rid of mine was to let it do a backup. I don’t use backups so I just deleted it/turned it off after.

Hasn’t come back since.

Y’all did the temporary backup where it does the iCloud backup even if you don’t have enough storage?

This may be the culprit. It assumes you are prepping y’all’s iPhones for an upgrade.

Well y’all (🙄), I don’t use iCloud backup and I got the same message. Just assume it’s yet another Apple bug.

Looks like a bug too.

What iPhone do you have and are any of you guys running a beta version of iOS 26 in any way?

No. I have more than enough space for my backups, and I still have the prompt. I also have a Launch Day 17 Pro.
Running the PB of iOS 26.2.

The day it was available. Can’t even remember now. I usually update on the day.
That’s a bug then.

File feedback on feedback assistant and post the feedback number so others with this issue can report it to Apple.

Additionally RCs have been released. Y’all can give it a try.

Hey, you might have been selected to beta test a brand new phone!
