I've recently reinstalled OS 9 and I can't remember how to set up the keychain permissions.

I have an AFP shared folder set to automatically mount on boot, with its network password stored in my keychain. However, every time I boot up, I get something to the effect of "Finder wants to access your keychain" with a prompt for the keychain password. There is no password set, so I just need to press Return.

How can I disable this prompt entirely? Under Keychain Access I've enabled "allow access without warning" and I don't have it set to automatically lock. Can someone remind me what else I need to do to get rid of the password prompt?

This might seem like an overly simple response, but perhaps having no password is causing the issue. Again not totally sure about this but my proviso experience with PPC Macs and even my current Intel machines seemed to have issues with password necessary things that had no password.

Possibly. I'll try setting one up and will get back to you (I'm supposed to be working at the moment so won't do it right now...)

No luck, I'm afraid. Although at least my iMac is now back in a state where I can 'just use it', instead of the mouse being plugged into a different computer :)
